Protect Your Energy

I am a huge proponent of energy. It affects us more than we realize. Jon Gordon’s book, “The Energy Bus”, was a game changer for me. It’s about having a positive mindset, but protecting yourself and your energy from “energy vampires.” We all have energy vampires in our lives. They are the people who leave you drained, give off a bad vibe or feeling, or have something negative to say about everything. You know who I am talking about. In a nutshell, you control your energy - your energy bus. People can I either get on or get the fuck off. I have read the book a few times, and each time I feel a renewed sense to review who is on my bus. I keep those who lifted me, even if we don’t talk all the time or just FaceBook friends. If someone is bringing me down, off they go - simple as that. It’s all about balance, right? My mom always says, “If someone gives you a choice, take it.” You choose who to let on your bus and who to drive by.
Energy is a two-way street. You give and you receive. You can give too much and receive too little. Once I got a foothold on protecting my energy, it was very easy to recognize the good from the bad and let that shit go. This has become a necessary practice for my mental health and liver. Looking for a fresh start in 2025? Read “The Energy Bus” and try clearing your energy. You will be glad you did!
